We have just received exciting news from Dr. Reuben Matalon, who discovered the Canavan gene: he is working with a researcher who has created the enzyme which Canavan children lack in a small enough form to pass through the blood-brain barrier in the cerebrospinal fluid. It appears this treatment has been extremely effective in mice. He believes that this could be the CURE for Canavan Disease, and has requested an inital payment of $25K from us to develop the enzyme for treatment in humans.
