for awhile now lilliana has had runny poop and her diapers dont hold it.  does anyone else have this problem.  she is on CoQ10 with L carnatine (its part of the canavan cocktail) one of her doctors thought that it was the cause of the problem.  we have tried all different diapers pampers are ok but not huggies.  right now shes in size 3 and 4 so when she gets bigger what diapers do you use.  because im sure none of our kids would ever use the toilet would they? also shes almost out grown her changing table how do you change the kids when their bigger?

First, I would make sure she is getting enough fluid just in case all the runny poops could be dehydrating her.  Nicholas is 11 and weighs 45 pounds.  He wears Pampers size 7 during the day and XS Juvenile diapes at night.  To my knowledge there are not any children that can use a toilet on their own.  Hope this helps.

heidi

so paul is constipation so you give him miralax.  did his doctor say its ok to give that isnt there something else. is paul on the canavn cocktail (lithuim, CoQ10, ect...) because the CoQ10 would probably be a more natural way for him to keep things moving. we give Lilliana 22 ml daily. feel free to contact me if you want Tippyrose16@aol.com 920-779-5903 :)

I do not about the Canavan cocktail, but if Lithium is part of it, you need to make sure his level is not elevated as side effects of Lithium toxicity is diarrhea, and can even be present without high levels. (That is from the psychiatrist in me talking and not the parent) I would have it checked out, some of the other symproms from toxicity would not be noticed as our kids don't walk. Kidneys are pretty important, and Li though a great drug, can do a number on the kidneys and thyroid, though I am sure you were told about that before you started any combination with lithium.
